• the right to rectification (Art. 16 EU GDPR),
• the right to data portability (Art. 20 EU GDPR),

• the right to object to the data processing (Art. 21 EU GDPR).

Please contact if you wish to exercise these rights. The same applies if you have questions about data processing in our company. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Rights to object

Please take note of the following with regard to your rights to object:

If we process your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object to this form of data processing at any time without giving a reason. The same applies to profiling insofar as it is carried out in connection with this direct marketing.

If you object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes, we will then cease processing your personal data for these purposes. You will not be charged a fee for exercising your right to object and can do so informally, ideally by sending an e-mail to
If we are processing your data to safeguard legitimate interests, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation; the same applies to any profiling based on these provisions.

We will then cease processing your personal data except in cases where we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or where the data processing is necessary in order to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Purposes and legal foundation of data processing

We process your personal data in compliance with the provisions in the EU GDPR, the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG – new) and all other applicable data protection legislation. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 EU GDPR in particular.

We use your data to initiate business transactions, fulfil contractual and statutory obligations, execute contracts, offer products and services, and strengthen our relationship with you, which may also involve implementing direct marketing measures and performing analyses for marketing purposes.

Your consent is also deemed to meet the consent requirement under data protection law. This statement informs you of the purposes for which we process your personal data and of your right to object. Should your consent also encompass the processing of special categories of personal data, we will expressly inform you thereof in the respective declaration.

We only process special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9(1) EU GDPR if this is required on the basis of legal provisions and if there is no reason to assume that the safeguarding of your legitimate interest in the cessation of the processing takes precedence over these provisions.

Transfer to third parties

We will only transfer your data to third parties with your consent or insofar as we are required to do so by law. Otherwise your data will not be transferred to third parties unless we are obliged to do so to comply with mandatory legislation (transfer to external third parties such as supervisory authorities or law enforcement agencies).

Data recipients / categories of recipients

Within our company, we ensure that your data is only disclosed to persons who require it in order to fulfil contractual and statutory obligations.

Our specialist departments frequently obtain support from service providers when performing their tasks. The necessary data protection contracts have been concluded with all service providers. The service providers used by our company are mainly printers, print finishers, logistics companies, paper manufacturers and loan insurers.

Secure transmission of your data

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to ensure that your stored data is optimally protected against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Security levels are regularly reviewed in cooperation with security experts and adjusted in line with new security standards.

Data is encrypted for transmission to and from our website. We offer HTTPS as a transfer protocol for our website in conjunction with current encryption protocols. Alternative communication channels may also be used (e.g. post).

Transfer to third countries / intention to transfer data to third countries

Data is only transferred to third countries (outside the European Union and the European Economic Area) if this is necessary to fulfil contractual obligations, if it is prescribed by law, or if you have given us your consent.

We do not (currently) transfer your personal data to any service provider or group company outside the European Economic Area.

Data storage period

We store your data for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it is being processed. Please note that there are numerous statutory retention periods which (may) require us to store your data for longer. These relate in particular to retention obligations under commercial or fiscal law (e.g. the Commercial Code [Handelsgesetzbuch], Fiscal Code [Abgabenordnung] etc.). If no such retention obligations exist, we routinely erase data once the purpose for which it was processed has been achieved. We can also retain your data if you have consented to this or if legal disputes arise and we are permitted to use evidence within the scope of statutory limitation periods, which can be up to thirty years; the standard limitation period is three years.

Obligation to provide data

Various types of personal data are required for the establishment, maintenance and termination of the contractual relationship and the fulfilment of the associated contractual and statutory obligations. The same applies to the use of our website and the various functions which it provides.

We have summarised the details for you in the section mentioned above. In certain cases, data must be collected or provided in order to comply with legal provisions. Please note that your query cannot be processed or the underlying contractual obligation fulfilled unless this data is provided.

Data categories, sources and origins

The data we process is determined by the respective context. It depends for example on whether you are placing an order online, submitting an enquiry using our contact form, sending us an application, or making a complaint.
Please note that information required for special processing situations will if necessary be sent separately to the appropriate body, e.g. when uploading application documents or sending a query.
When you visit our website, we collect and process the following data:
the log files and IP address assigned by your internet service provider. This data is stored in compliance with Art. 6(1) sent. 1 (f) EU GDPR for reasons of technical security (in particular to ward off attempts to attack our web server). It is stored for a period of 7 days, or 14 days in the case of access log files.

Contact form / e-mail contact (Art. 6(1)(a), (b) EU GDPR)

You will find a contact form on our website which you can use to contact us electronically. If you write to us using the contact form, we will process the data you enter into the contact form for the purpose of making contact with you and responding to your queries and requests.

The principle of data minimisation and data avoidance is observed inasmuch as you are only required to enter the data that is essential for us to make personal contact with you. This consists of your e-mail address, your name, the subject field and the message itself. Your IP address is also processed out of technical necessity and for legal protection. All other fields are optional and you may choose whether or not to fill them out (e.g. to obtain more personal responses to your queries).

If you contact us by e-mail, we will use the personal data provided in your e-mail solely for the purpose of processing your query. No other data is collected unless you use the contact forms provided.

When you contact us, we collect and process the following data:
• Surname, first name
• Company
• Contact data (e.g. e-mail address)
• Salutation
• Information about wishes and interests

Cookies (Art. 6(1)(f) cl.1 EU GDPR and Art. 6(1)(a) cl.1 EU GDPR, Section 25 (1), 2 TTDSG)

Several parts of our website use so-called cookies. These help make our service more user-friendly, efficient and secure. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and stored by your browser (locally on your hard drive). Based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) cl.1 EU GDPR), we use technically necessary cookies which are essential to the operation of the website and which ensure that it remains functional. Furthermore, we use cookies without your consent if their sole purpose is to store or access information stored in the terminal device for the transmission of messages or if this is absolutely necessary in order to be able to provide the service you have expressly requested, Section 25 (2) TTDSG.

We also place other cookies with your consent. These cookies also enable us to analyse how visitors use our websites. We can then adapt our website content to visitor requirements. Cookies also allow us to measure the effectiveness of a specific advertisement and have it placed for example in accordance with the topics in which the user is interested. The legal basis for this is your express consent (Art. 6(1)(a) cl.1 EU GDPR, Section 25 (1) TTDSG).

We use the following cookies:

First-party cookies:
These cookies are managed by Mayer-Kuvert-network GmbH directly. Depending on their purpose, they are either stored permanently, i.e. also after the session ends (these are known as persistent cookies and are used for example to implement opt-out) or deleted when the browser is closed (these are known as session cookies and are only valid for one browser session).

Third-party cookies:
These cookies are managed by third parties. They use cookies for example to transmit information, display content, or track the web pages you visit.

The cookies used are so-called temporary/permanent cookies which are automatically deleted once the period specified has expired. Both temporary and permanent cookies are stored on your terminal device and are automatically deleted once the respective storage period has expired. Third-party cookies also contain only pseudonymised data; this data is even anonymised in most cases. If you have accounts with the third-party providers we use and are logged into these, your data may be linked to the respective account. You can prevent this link from being made by withholding or withdrawing your consent to the respective cookies or by logging out of the third party’s website beforehand. Please also take note of the information we provide in the section on the respective tool.

Before placing these cookies and putting such tools to use, we invariably display a cookie banner requesting your consent. If you have consented to this, you can of course withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason by adjusting your privacy settings accordingly. In this case, please note that your settings must be changed separately on each terminal device.

Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. You can of course also disable, restrict or delete cookies on your terminal device, either manually by changing your browser settings or with the aid of appropriate software.

Please note that if you disable cookies, you may not be able to use all the functions on our website in full.

User profile

Mayer-Kuvert-network GmbH does not create user profiles that could allow conclusions to be drawn regarding the natural person using the website.

YouTube Videos

We have embedded YouTube videos into our website. These are stored at and can be played directly from our website. These videos are all embedded in “privacy-enhanced mode”, i.e. your user data is not transmitted to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only when you play the videos is the data described in the next paragraph transmitted to YouTube. We have no influence over this data transmission. The legal basis for the processing of this data is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1) sent. 1 (a) EU GDPR.

Google also processes your personal data in the U.S..

Embedding the videos in privacy-enhanced mode prevents the placement of cookies for which consent is required, i.e. cookies which track user behaviour in order to personalise the video playback experience. However, privacy-enhanced mode only affects the tracking of user behaviour and not the delivery of advertisements, the subsequent loading of other third-party content, the transfer of fonts, or the possible creation of links with your YouTube user account. Starting the video initiates further data processing activities. We have no influence over these.

When you access our website, a device ID is generated in your web browser’s local storage and remains there after the session has ended.

Embedded YouTube videos require the subsequent loading of third-party content; this may include fonts, thumbnail images etc. This means that data is transferred to third parties who may also initiate data processing activities outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. The IP address, referring website and browser data could for example be transferred and then used for tracking and analytical purposes. YouTube and the associated Google services use this data for purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-oriented design of its website. In addition, third-party providers can place cookies which may enable tracking. If you have a YouTube / Google account and are logged in, a link to this can be generated and a user profile created by associating the data with your account. If you do not wish this data to be associated with your account, you must log out of YouTube / Google before accessing our website. Please note that your data will also be analysed if you are logged out. This is carried out in order to provide demand-oriented advertising and inform other users of your activities on our website. We have absolutely no influence over any of these data processing activities.

These processing activities are based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1) sent. 1 (a) EU GDPR. Providing your consent in our consent banner will make all the YouTube videos embedded on our website visible to you and cause the content to be loaded as soon as you access the website. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by adjusting your privacy settings.

If you have not consented to the use of embedded YouTube content, the content on our website will be blocked or covered by an overlay. We use this so-called two-click solution to protect your data. All YouTube content is deactivated by default and is only loaded and played from the YouTube servers after you click the “Activate Content” button. By clicking on this button, you consent for example to your IP address, referrer information and browser being sent to YouTube and to cookies being placed on your browser.

You have the option of giving your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1) sent. 1 (a) EU GDPR for the purpose of accessing individual videos. This setting is stored for a period of 30 days. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by reloading the website.

Further information about the scope and purpose of the collection and processing of data by YouTube is provided in Google’s privacy policy. Here you will also find further information about your rights and the changes you can make to your browser settings in order to protect your privacy:

Google Fonts

This website uses external fonts from Google Fonts. Google Fonts is a service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). (“Google”). These web fonts are integrated by means of a server call, usually to a Google server in the U.S. In doing so, data is sent to the server regarding which of our web pages you have visited. Google also stores the browser IP address of terminal devices used by visitors to these web pages. You will find additional information in Google’s privacy policy, which you can access here:

Google Fonts are used in the interest of displaying our website in a uniform, appealing manner. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1) sent. 1 (f) GDPR.

To control consent this website uses Borlabs Cookie (Borlabs, Rübenkamp 32, 22305 Hamburg, Deutschland), which sets a technically necessary cookie (borlabs-cookie) in order to store your consent to the placement of cookies. Storing the borlabs cookie is absolutely necessary in order to store your consent and data protection settings, Section 25 (2) TTDSG. The legal basis for the personal data contained in the cookies (UID) is our legitimate interest in effective consent control, Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f EU-DS-GVO.

Borlabs cookie does not process any personal data other than the data contained in the cookie (e.g. UID). The borlabs cookie is stored for 90 days in case of your consent, otherwise for 45 days.

The cookie ‘borlabs-cookie’ stores the consent you gave when you accessed the website. If you wish to withdraw your consent, simply delete the cookie in your browser. If you do so, you will again be asked to give your consent when you return to/reload the website.

Automated individual decisions

We do not use purely automated processing procedures to effectuate decisions.

Links to other providers

Our website also contains clearly identified links to the websites of other companies. We have no influence over the content of any websites operated by other providers that are linked from our website. This means we can accept no liability or guarantee for this content. The respective website provider or operator is invariably responsible for the content of their website.

The linked web pages were checked for possible violations of the law and identifiable breaches at the time the links were inserted. No unlawful content was identified at this time. However, we cannot be reasonably expected to continue monitoring the content of the linked web pages without concrete evidence that a violation of the law has taken place. If such violations are found, the links to the respective web pages will be removed immediately.

Links to social media

On our website, you will find links to the social media services provided by Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Links to the websites of social media services are identified by the respective corporate logo. If you click on these links, you will reach the page maintained by Mayer-Kuvert-network GmbH on the respective social media website. If you click on a link that leads to a social media service, a connection is made with the social media service’s servers. This will inform the social media service’s servers that you have visited our web page. Further data is also sent to the provider of the social media service. This includes, for example,

• the address of the web page on which the activated link is located
• the date and time at which the web page was accessed or the link activated
• information about the browser and operating system used
• your IP address

If you are logged in to the corresponding social media service at the time the link is activated, the provider of the social media service may be able to ascertain your user name and possibly even your real name from the data transmitted and to associate this information with your personal user account with the social media service. You can rule out the possibility of this data being associated with your personal user account if you log out of your user account beforehand.

The servers used by the social media services are located in the U.S. and other countries outside the European Union. This means that the providers of the social media services may also process your data in countries outside the European Union. Please note that companies in these countries are subject to data protection legislation that does not protect general personal data to the same extent as in the European Union’s member states.

Please also note that we have no influence over the scope, nature and purpose of the data processing carried out by providers of social media services. More detailed information about the use of your data by the social media services linked on our website is available in the privacy policy of the respective social media service.
