Awarded: proSCENT® is the product of the year

The readers of the trade journal “Postmaster-Magazin” have voted the response-enhancing concept proSCENT® from Mayer-Kuvert-network as Product of the Year 2015. In the counting of the votes proSCENT® clearly prevailed against other innovative products.

proSCENT® is a new process with which Mayer-Kuvert-network implements the findings of modern fragrance research for the product- and target group-related scenting of direct mailings. Via the limbic system, fragrances can stimulate the human brain into an increased willingness to buy – an insight that the retail trade has long since taken advantage of in the form of muted scenting through aroma columns.

With proSCENT® Mayer-Kuvert-network has now found a way to get the sales-promoting fragrances into the hands of the customers and to address them twice. In the first phase, the proSCENT®-mailing attracts attention by emitting a clearly perceptible scent from the envelope immediately after opening – the microcapsules inside the envelope are destroyed in the process.

As the fragrance particles are transferred to the contents when they are pulled out, the second phase follows directly. This is because the scent now lingers on when the contents are read – and so weakly that the scent only subconsciously addresses the limbic system.

With the help of the proSCENT® scent construction kit, the individual aroma is determined on the basis of the products offered in the mailing, the target group to be addressed and the desired effect, which is to encourage the recipient to respond.
